  I needed a minivan due to my own being in the shop. I have never heard of AVR but decided to try them out due to the best daily rate. Nice clean 2017 Dodge minivan. My van remained in the shop 4 days longer than expected and the manager of AVR called and informed me that the rate doubled per day plus a $20 extension fee. This was outrageous to me. I rent a ton of vehicles and have never had the rate double on an extension. When I returned the van I spoke with the manager and he removed the extension fee and lowered my extension rate. He did not have to do that and it was greatly appreciated. That is great customer service and I do recommend using AVR for any rental needs you may have. I have another van scheduled for pickup this Friday for vacation. They are still the best rate available.

  I wish I could say I'm kidding but-
  
  We waited a considerable amount of time to rent a car. When we got into the Altima it reeked of feces. There were no other cars to drive, and we were headed to a funeral from out of state. We drove the car to a car wash to remove the scent for a long 5 hour drive.
  
  If we had not arrived into Chicago as late as we did I would have gone to a different rental option. However it was well into the evening and there were litterally no other options.
  
  On our way to the funeral we were pulled over. The car had no plates and the temporary tag had expired. After 25 minutes we were on our way.
  
  The amount of time it took to get to our destination after having to wash the inside of the car and getting pulled over made us considerably late.
  
  2 stars as I was grateful to have found a car in the Chicago airport area, for the shuttle, and having made it to the funeral.
